Chairman and Director
John Proust is the founder and principal shareholder of numerous public and private companies and has advised public and private companies with respect to debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring since 1986. John has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and corporate governance. John has served on many boards and in several senior operating positions for both private and public companies. John is currently Chairman, CEO and a director of Southern Arc Minerals and CarbonOne Technologies, a director of Outrider Energy Corp and a director of Q Investments Ltd. John received the designation of Chartered Director (CDir) from McMaster University, Directors College, Michael G. DeGroote School of Business.
Benjamin M. Jones,
Chief Executive Officer, President and Director
Mr. Benjamin M. Jones has been involved in the oil and gas industry in North America since 1977. Mr. Jones worked for Placid Oil Company in Dallas, Texas from 1977 to 1981 as an exploitation engineer. In 1981, Mr. Jones became an independent explorationist, screening, generating, and promoting drilling prospects on the eastern shelf of the Permian Basin of West Central Texas. In 1986, Mr. Jones shifted his focus to the Gulf Coast Basin and toward raising drilling funds and investing in drilling prospects. In 1988, Mr. Jones partnered with John R. Howard in a merger of drilling funds and served as Exploration Manager for Carrollton Resources from 1988 to 1997. During this time, Carrollton participated in several hundred drilling wells and operated numerous properties. Carrollton Resources completed a stock merger into Titan Exploration Inc., a public exploration company, in 1997. Mr. Jones was engaged as the Gulf Coast Exploration Manager from 1997 to 1999. In 2000, Mr. Jones redirected his efforts to pursue coalbed methane projects and raised private equity to fund this pursuit. He is the founder of the Company's Peace River Project in British Columbia. Mr. Jones graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and also holds a Masters Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Boon is a Chartered Accountant with more than 10 years of experience with private and public companies focusing on financial reporting, regulatory compliance, internal control and corporate finance activities. Mr. Boon's experience includes financial reporting for both Canadian and US listed companies with international subsidiaries, strategic planning, tax planning, corporate governance, equity financings and due diligence for acquisitions. Mr. Boon holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CA.
Kyle R. Burnett,
Mr. Burnett has been actively involved in the oil and gas business since 1980. Mr. Burnett is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Burnett Petroleum Company, Magnolia Petroleum Company and Arcadia Operating, LLC. He also serves as a board member for Arcadia Exploration and Production Company. He received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Bahnuik is a partner with the law firm Merani Reimer LLP where he specializes in corporate and commercial law with special expertise relating to businesses in the energy sector. Prior to joining Merani Reimer LLP, Mr. Bahnuik was an associate with a large national law firm and has worked in-house with a major Canadian oil & gas company in both its land and legal departments. Mr. Bahnuik received a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 2002 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2004. It is anticipated that Mr. Bahnuik will receive a Master of Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in the fall of 2013.
Mr. Purifoy has been a corporate finance and operations specialist involved in the oil and gas exploration and production industry for 28 years. Mr. Purifoy has participated in drilling ventures in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Israel, Western Canada and offshore Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Purifoy is currently the managing partner of Grayhawk Advisors Ltd. since April 2005. Prior to April 2005, Mr. Purifoy was the managing director of Covenant Financial Corporation from January 1992 to March 2005. Both companies are private companies engaged in providing investment banking services. Mr. Purifoy graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance in 1978 and also holds a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Ms. Au currently serves as Corporate Secretary to various public and private companies. Ms. Au has worked in the capital markets in Asia for more than 10 years. Ms. Au's roles have included senior management positions responsible in areas of finance, compliance, business development, strategic planning and corporate restructuring. Ms. Au is currently the Corporate Secretary of Southern Arc Minerals Inc., CarbonOne Technologies, Outrider Energy Corp. and San Angelo Oil Limited. Ms. Au graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
